Summer Evening Hymn Sing is back, and this summer it is in person again! Everyone is invited to come and sing on Wednesday August 24 at 7:00 pm. And if you don’t sing, come and listen!
If you are like me, you have your favourite hymns and many of those hymns hold very special memories. I can never sing “How Great Thou Art” without remembering my mother. Even in her advanced age this was one hymn she could still sing and play on the piano, from memory. Some of us have no favourites, but enjoy all the hymns.
For this event I have selected a list of hymns that we have sung many times at Trinity, and that have often been requested in the past. If you would like to dedicate any hymns on the attached list as you make a donation in any amount, please complete the form and return it to the church with your donation.
Every dollar donated to the hymn sing will go direct to Trinity Church to help with ongoing expenses as we emerge from the pandemic and all the restrictions that came with it. The hymn list and dedication page (below) is also available at church.
On the evening of our Hymn Sing the order of service will include the list of hymns, names of those who have dedicated them and the names to whose memories the hymns are dedicated. We will share a few little stories about some of the hymns, and the evening will end with refreshments.
I hope that you will be able to attend and make a contribution towards this special evening. Please invite your friends, neighbours and family — everyone is welcome to come and sing.
